Harley Edition Ford F-150

Harley Edition F-150 Overview, History, & Information

"Born in Detroit, dressed in Milwaukee" - the special edition Harley F-150 was introduced for the 2000 model year displaying unique aesthetic features and minor performance upgrades. The truck's unmistakable Harley Davidson badging, orange and gray pinstriping, and black exterior paint made the truck easy to spot. Under the hood a standard 260 horsepower, 350 lb-ft 5.4L V-8 powered the Harley Edition F-150, breathing through the same performance muffler found on the SVT Lightning and featuring a similar side exit dual exist system. The suspension design was also inspired by the SVT Lightning, dropping the Harley Edition 1 inch all around and utilizing both Lightning shock absorbers and a tuned sway bar. The Harley Edition was produced through the 2012 model year, but not before experiencing a number of aesthetic designs and powertrain options, which included several versions powered by a supercharged 5.4L.

With the exception of the 2004 an 2005 model year Harley Edition Super Duty (F-250 & F-350 models), the Harley Edition F-150 changed nearly every model year. The revisions included both styling changes, such as paint and badging options, as well as powertrain options. In 2002, for example, a supercharged 5.4L V-8 replaced the naturally aspirated version. In 2007, a Saleen supercharged version similar to that used in the Shelby GT500 Mustang was introduced, producing 450 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque. The Harley would go back to a naturally aspirated 5.4L shortly thereafter, and the 400+ horsepower 6.2L V-8 would find its way into the unique F-150 shortly before its retirement.
