Ford 5.8L "Trinity" V-8

Supercharged 5.8L Trinity V-8 Engine Specs, History

The Ford 5.8L "Trinity" V-8 was a short lived, high performance engine platform designed for the 2013 and 2014 model year Shelby GT500. A 2.3L Eaton supercharger providing up to 14 psi of boost aids the engine in producing a peak 662 horsepower and 631 lb-ft of torque. While the 5.8L typically redlines at 6,250 rpm, it is programmed with an "over rev" feature that allows the engine to reach 7,000 rpm in short bursts. Forged aluminum pistons, forged steel I beam connecting rods, and a forged steel crankshaft with tungsten balance inserts hold the bottom end of the engine together under rigorous conditions.
